Software that, for example, allows you to input a number of aspects of your novel- character name, inciting incident, plot twist 2b-and then arrange them into a pre-formatted structure, is a bad thing. While the elaborate formatting conventions of screenplays mean that Final Draft is a useful tool for screenwriters, there’s a large part of me that believes the only things prose writers need are something to write with, something to write on, and a dictionary. And the outliner feature makes it easy to outline your work throughout the writing process, an essential part of any long-form project which must be accounted for.As a rule, I’m highly mistrustful of software that targets itself at fiction writers. In addition, the split view and corkboard settings allow you to take a step back and look at the bigger picture of your project, which means the ability to rearrange your manuscript quickly and efficiently. It has all the features you’ve come to expect from other word processors and new features, such as allowing you to compose your text in any order and then combine it later on in sections as large or small as you desire. ![]() Scrivener is a word processor and project management tool that is there for writers from the first idea to the final draft. That’s why writing professionals around the world use Scrivener. But sooner or later, it becomes apparent that attempting to write seriously on platforms like Microsoft Word and Google Docs is a futile endeavor. In fact, even today, a great number of people have been inspired to write in their time alone. There’s a certain inspiration that comes from isolation.
